What the register shows

For each practitioner the register shows their professional category, licence number, authorised scope and current status (Health Identity and Interoperability Act 2026, section 4A(b)). It never shows home addresses or private contact details (section 4A(c)).

When an authorisation is suspended, restricted, expires or is restored, we record it without unreasonable delay and, where we can, on the day it takes effect (section 4B(a)).

What the statuses mean

  • Current: authorised to practise within the scope shown.
  • Current with conditions: authorised, but with limits on what they may do.
  • Suspended: not allowed to practise until the suspension ends.
  • Lapsed: the authorisation has expired and has not been renewed.

If something looks wrong

Practitioners can ask us to correct or review their own entry (section 4B(b)). If someone tells you they are a health practitioner and you cannot find them, tell us. Pretending to be an authorised practitioner is an offence (section 4C).
